Shipping policy

Shipping is one of the hardest things we do. Car parts come in many different shapes, sizes and weights, and trying to send them in a safe, reliable, quick, economical way to over 70 countries never stops being a challenge - as yet there isn't a single courier service that can cope with everything we want. 

We use a mixture of Royal Mail, DHL (formerly Business Post), and FedEx to send the majority of our packages, utilising systems like Parcel2Go at times to find the best price on a given parcel.

Insurance adds another level of complexity to consider - many items might not be "high value" but are still irreplaceable. 

Glass is the biggest challenge. The safest way to transport glass is on the customer's back seat, with bubble wrap, cloth and seat belts to secure it. When using a courier, we have no choice but to have a bespoke wooden crate made for the exact order, pack it with polystyrene, and send that - the costs are eye-watering but it's the only way to ensure the glass isn't broken on delivery. 

So, on this online shop we have tried to keep it simple for now. Who knows, we might find the perfect business partner to make this better...

For UK deliveries

  • Up to 2kg and items that aren't "bulky" we tend to favour Royal Mail at around £5 per order. 
  • Above 2kg to around 12kg, with bulkier items we tend to use DHL or FedEx, but Royal Mail offer some services.

There will be various options at checkout available, including:

  • Large letter is not exceeding: Length: 35.3cm Width: 25cm Thickness up to and including: 2.5cm Weight limit: 750g. Individual gaskets, washers, booklets and that sort of thing will go this way.
  • Small parcel is not exceeding: Length: 45cm Width: 35cm Depth: 16cm Weight limit: 2kg
  • Medium parcel is not exceeding: Length: 61cm Width: 46cm Depth: 46cm Weight limit: 20kg

For international deliveries

We tend to get quotes to order, as orders tend to be bulky, heavy, odd shapes or a combination, and different countries have different rates with different couriers. We have added some Royal Mail services to the checkout system, but for a quote with a courier (FedEx, UPS, DHL etc) please contact us.

As such, we might not offer shipping of your order to your location on this online shop - all that means is you should contact us via email or phone and we can find a specific shipping solution for your exact order, often after we have picked, packed and weighed the result package.
