Collection: Delta (86-94) / Prisma

The Delta name was first used in the 1910's when the early models were retrospecively renamed Alfa, Beta, Delta, Gamma, and the name was brought back for the new hatchback model in 1979.

This version of the Delta remained in production until 1994, and was based upon a modified Fiat Ritmo platform.    Turbocharged versions appeared in 1983, fuel injection in 1986, and in 1986, a mass production 4WD version was finally released - the HF4WD, which was the precursor to the hugely desirable range of integrale models.

The Delta S4 married Lancia's knowledge of supercharging (from the 037 and Beta Volumex), with what they had learned from the Montecarlo Turbo, LC1 and LC2 endurance racing cars, and was one of the most impressive 4WD Group B cars made.   It brought 4WD to the Delta before the HF4WD but being a homologation special it was a very specialised machine indeed.

Following Group B's cancellation, Lancia found themselves with the right car at the right time, the Group A Lancia Delta HF4WD blitzed the world rally championship and the Delta was the car to beat from 1987 to 1992/3.

Lancia also offered a saloon version, known as the Prisma.
