3D Printing

As quite a number of parts are made using CAD/CAM techniques, being able to make a quick prototype part is useful, and that is why Omicron Engineering has recently invested in a 3D Printer. This means that we can quickly and cheaply make a plastic replica part to check dimensions before having the part made from more expensive materials. This can prevent an expensive mistake or can refine the prototype so that when the real part is made its superior to the first design.

The photograph shows a prototype handbrake shoe to verify the design prior to having a batch made from steel.

We are also able to print things out for our customers, so if you have an STL file of something and it is within the build limitation sizes of our machine, we can print out your design. If you need a 3D model designing then we can help with that too!
